  • Complete understanding
  • Insightful explanation
  • Connects/ extends
  • Ample and varied supporting examples
  • Organized paragraph
  • Completes task independently
  • Clearly demonstrates understanding without using demonstrative models or examples (same example teacher/book gave)
  • Completes all requirements
  • Insightful explanations that link to or extend to a non-routine situation or experience
  • Responds in well organized paragraph with ample varied supporting examples
  • Connects response to self, text, or world; compares/contrasts

 

MG

  • Understands task/question
  • Answers correctly
  • Several supporting examples
  • Complete sentences
  • Completes task with minimal prompting from instructor
  • Clearly demonstrates understanding of vocabulary/content with demonstrative and possibly some original examples
  • Completes all requirements
  • Explanations clearly and accurately review demonstrative models and may attempt to extend with original examples
  • Responds in complete sentences with several supporting examples.

AG

  • Partial understanding
  • Explanation is incomplete
  • Examples are minimal/ vague or irrelevant
  • 1 or 2 sentences
  • Completes task with prompting from instructor
  • Demonstrates understanding of most vocabulary/content
  • Some, but not all requirements met
  • Explanations are incomplete or do not review demonstrative models; examples are minimal, limited, vague or irrelevant
  • Responds in 1 or 2 sentences or incomplete sentences

  • Still developing understanding
  • response may be incomplete/ off topic or irrelevant
  • no response or illegible
  • Completes task with teacher assistance
  • Demonstrates limited understanding of the majority of vocabulary/content, even after models/ examples/explanation
  • Explanations are not attempted, incomplete or contain information that is not relevant to the question
