Chunks

Through out the school year we will be learning how to recogonize and
use chunks to decode words. For example, if your child can recognize the
chunk "at", then he/she should be able to read words: hat, cat, mat, fat,
flat, chat, splat, etc...

Please have your child use this reading strategey, "Looking for Chunks
in Words", when decoding unfamiliar words.
