Written Homework is assigned daily. It should take 30 to 45
minutes to complete.

How often are tests given?

Tests are given at the completion of every chapter. This works
out to approximately every 2 weeks. Quizzes are given in between
tests to make sure students are staying on task. Quizzes and
tests are generally rated the same. Therefore, there could be 3
to 6 quiz/test grades per marking period.

Does the student get extra credit for doing homework?

The student is expected to do his homework. I check it daily. He
can get 1, 2, or 3 points for each homework depending on the
difficulty level and whether it was done correctly. At the end of
the marking period, I total up the maximum possible homework
score. I then total up the individual student's score. The ratio
of these two counts as an actual test, and is averaged with his
quiz/test grades. The homework grade will represent either 25% or
20% of the marking period grade, depending upon whether 3 or 4
tests were given that marking period.

averaged. Class participation is also taken into consideration.
