Our last big fundraiser is coming up, which will help you to earn money for your senior accounts. Students can sell tickets, bring in baskets or desserts. Credit in your account will NOT be given for tickets purchased at the door. See Mrs. Milos or Ms. Sieminski to purchase tickets. Help is also needed after school the week of April 16-20. Stop by 202 !
Reminder: Seniors who have not paid or earned $180.00 for their senior accounts will not be able to purchase prom tickets or walk on stage at graduation. Tricky Tray is a great opportunity to earn money for this account or towards your prom bid. Tickets are on sale now!
Seniors! We are hosting a bake sale on Valentine's Day! Any student who brings in a baked good to sell will have their accounts credited. We need cupcakes, brownies, or any other items that yu think people will enjoy on Valentine's Day. We are also beginning our Candy-Gram sale. We need helpers to sell, package and to deliver the candy.
Scholarship Applications have been coming into the guidance department every day! Check in to see if any are a good fit! There are ones for women education majors, athletes, engineering majors, relatives of police officers, elks families, baseball players, hispanic students, etc!
College Goal Sunday is an annual event designed to assist low income and first generation students in completing the national application for college financial aid, the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), and providing information on available financial aid resources. Get free on-site professional assistance filling out the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) form. Talk to financial aid professionals about financial aid resources and how to apply. Saint Peter's College, Hudson Community College and New Jersey City University have agreed along with Felician College to host on-site admissions days here at Weehawken High School. New Jersey City University will be here on January 20th, Saint Peter's College will be here on January 31st and Hudson will be here on February 8th. Sign up today!
Financial Aid Night
Thursday, January 12th, 2012 at 6:30 pm, we will be hosting financial aid night for students and parents. All students should attend this evening if they are planning on attending 2 year college, 4 year college, or any other training program. There will be information on filling out the FAFSA.

Felician Instant Decision Day is Wednesday, December 14th. You need to sign up by Tuesday, 4th period to take part in this event. Make sure you have a copy of your personal statement.

It was great to see everyone today for our first Senior Meeting! Remember ALL seniors must pay $180.00 by the end of the year in order to walk on stage, get a yearbook, etc. $80.00 is due by October 28th to attend the Masquerade for FREE.
We will be selling gertrude hawk chocolate and gifts. The orders will be DUE on November 28th and will be delivered on December 12th.
ALL application materials should be proofread before being submitted online or via paper. Stop by to go through the applications with me.
Tuesday, October 11th in the media center at lunch we will go through the Rutgers Application. You should consider applying for EOF if you recieve free/reduced lunch. You should also try to apply by November 1st!!!!!
Next Tuesday, October 4th will be Senior Portrait Day.
Seniors are allowed to leave one (1) hour before their appointment time to get ready. They are to be back in class after their picture is taken (approx 20-30 mins after their appointment time).
For example, if Melissa has a 9:45am appointment time - she can leave at 8:45am and should hopefully be back in class by 10:15am.
Students taking the HSPA MUST take the HSPA in the morning and take their picture in the afternoon. See Ms Sieminski to pick a new appointment time.

Passaic/Essex Regional Fair - Monday, September 19, 2011 - 5:30 - 8:30 pm at William Paterson University
College Night at FDU- Teaneck is this Thursday, September 15th from 6-9 in the Rothman Center!Representatives from approximately 225 two-year and four-year colleges, nursing schools, business schools and trade schools will participate in the 21st annual Bergen County College Night which will be held on Thursday, September 15, 2011 at the Rothman Center of Fairleigh Dickinson University at the Metropolitan campus in Hackensack. In addition to asking questions, students and parents will be able to set up college interviews, pick up literature and learn about the various financial aid programs available.
I will begin collecting Senior Packets on August 23, 24, and 25th. The first 25 people to bring them back will get prizes!!
Its time to sign up for the SATs! The next date that Weehawken HS is offering the test is May 7th. If you receive free/reduced lunch, fee waivers are available in Ms. Sieminski's office. Students can sign up at www.collegeboard.com using the log in info that we set up after the PSAT.
