Why may I not chew gum in class?

Students who take class in lab must abide by the TLC Guidelines 
which they and a parent/guardian signed and agreed to at the 
onset of the course. Anything edible is not permitted -- this 
includes soda, snacks, as well as gum.  Our goal is to maintain 
and keep our labs in top working order for student, faculty and 
administartor's use.
