Ms. Sciortino graduated from Montclair State University with a degree in
Marketing and Management. After graduating from college, she was employed
in the merchandinsing and graphics industry as a sales representative and
corporate trainer. Before coming to Weehawken High School, Ms. Sciortino
was a substitute teacher for grades K-12, and a Catechism Teacher for grades
K-6. In September of 1999, Ms. Sciortino joined the Weehawken School
District as a professional substitute, also serving as an Italian instructor
in the Lyndhurst School System's Enrichment Program. In 2001, she completed
the Alternate Route Teaching Program at Montclair State University, In the
Spring of 2010, Ms. Sciortino was honored as the Teacher of the Year for
Weehawken High School. She currently teaches Basic Technology for grades 7 &
8; Desktop Publishing and Web Page Design for grades 9 - 12. Ms. Sciortino
serves as the Peer Leaderhip Advisor for grades 9 - 12, and is currently
fifteen credits into her Masters of Arts Degree in Teaching.
The mission for the class is to provide students with a solid foundation
in the various areas of computer literacy.
