November Library Newsletter
Most of the new books have arrived, which are now ready for students to
checkout, thanks to my wonderful library volunteers who have been busy
processing and covering them.
Third grade will continue their unit on fiction books by completing a call
number hunt with a partner, then they will be watching a video called Using
the Library.
In fourth grade, students will be reviewing how fiction and nonfiction books
are organized through hands on learning activities.
Fifth graders will be solving riddles about famous picture books from the
book Spot the Plot by J. Patrick Lewis that former librarian and now
presenter of workshops on children’s books, Judy Freeman, shared with us
during her visit October 16th. The students will then have the opportunity to
write and illustrate their own book riddles that will be compiled into a
class book that will be submitted to Judy Freeman to share with other
teachers and librarians at her workshops around the country.
