Tips To Help Children in Writing

Purchase a journal and encourage your child to write about a personal experience. For younger children have them write a sentence or draw pictures to tell their stories.
Encourage your child to make lists of groceries, events, and chores.
Show them interesting pictures and have them write a paragraph about what they think is happening in the picture.
Utilize cloze sentence strategy for beginning writers (The______tasted_____). You can obtain a list from the website found in links.
