Math Night!  Please plan to attend this Wednesday night for a pizza dinner and info about our Everyday Math curriculum. Dinner starts at 5:30 PM.  Sessions will begin at 6:30 PM.
Each family attending will receive a game kit and grade level specific game directions to practice math skills with their child.  Please call to RSVP to the office at 255-8744 if you haven't responded yet.  We want to have enough pizza and math kits for all families!

Valentine's Day is Tuesday:  Please have your child bring 18 valentines for each member in our class.  Our room parent Joanne Pinkalla will be doing an art project with the class after last recess at 2:30 PM.
Thank you to the chaperones who helped with our recent field trip!
Look for Winter District Testing results to come home this week.  We have just completed DBA (District Benchmark Assessment) for math and DRA2 (Developmental Reading Assessment 2) for reading.  I recommend nightly reading for all students and practice with flashcards (addition and trick words) to help your child progress.

Fundations Homework:  Remember to practice Trick Word flashcards with your child every night.  We are adding 3 new words each week.  The words for the current unit are getting progressively harder.  Keep up the practice!

Field Trip in 1 week!  Our field trip to Popejoy Hall is on Tuesday, February 7th.  Chaperones should plan to be at school by 10:15 AM.  Students need a SACK LUNCH that is disposable.  I am sending home an order form today for Cafeteria Sack Lunches.  I must turn in this order to the cafeteria manager by Thursday.  Return order forms by Thursday AM.

Math Timed Tests:  Students are doing well on learning their addition facts.  Please note that in their agenda each week there is a list of the new addition facts to learn for the week.

Curriculum Night is February 15th.  Mark your calendars and plan to attend this evening which focuses on Everyday Mathematics.  Please return your RSVP form if you haven't done so already.  Let me know if you need a new RSVP form.  Thanks!
