Hello, students and
families of Room 101!
My name is Ms. Rosengren and I am
pleased to introduce myself as the new co-teacher for Mrs. Murphy’s second
grade class. Since I will be spending
the year with your students, I think I should take to time to tell you a bit
about myself.
I moved to Albuquerque three years ago
from San Diego, California to attend UNM.
My major is elementary education with endorsements in mathematics and
Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages, or TESOL. This is now my senior year and my second
semester of student teaching and I must say that I have enjoyed every minute of
my college career so far. I am also a
cheerleader for UNM, which keeps me very connected and involved in the
community.
As far as teaching goes, I have always
loved being in schools, both as a student and as a young girl helping in my
mom’s classroom, and I can only imagine that my passion for teaching will
continue to grow from working with Mrs. Murphy and your remarkable students. One of my philosophies of teaching is that
every student deserves the opportunity to learn and thrive regardless of race, religion,
language, class, gender, age, etc., and I have committed myself to working with
diverse students and communities. I try
to make learning fun for kids and help them become motivated to learn all they
can. I also find parent and family
involvement to be extremely influential in a child’s education, so I encourage
you to contact me with any questions, concerns, ideas, or even just funny
stories about your child!
I am looking forward to being
one of your student’s teachers and building a strong classroom community this
year. As a new teacher in your student’s
life, I pledge to be a positive role model and a partner in learning and hope
to leave a lasting impression on your students.
Sincerely,
Ms. Rosengren
