WELCOME TO OUR WEBSITE!
Please visit this website on a weekly basis to keep in touch on what is going
on in our classroom. It is a great help to starting conversations with your
kindergartner...especially when they answer "I don't know" to your question
"What did you learn in school today?"
LITERACY CYCLES: This is a part of our day when we break in to small groups.
Each group will have a literacy element and a follow up activity. Three of the
groups will have an adult with them and 1 is run somewhat independently. The
activities are as follows:
STRINGS OF HEARTS: (cont. from last week) We are continuing to work on our
string of hearts to
prepare for Valentines Day.
KINDERGARTEN STANDARD: Kids will use early literacy skills to read message
hearts and write their own message. Kids will learn sequencing small, medium,
and large.
THE COLORS OF US: Students will read the book The Colors of US by Karen Katz.
They will write a sentence about the "color of them" and work on making a
self-portrait in colors that match their ski, eyes, hair, etc.
KINDERGARTEN STANDARD: Kids will learn about the diversity of people and the
color of our skin. Kids will use early writing skills to write a complete
sentence making a comparison to their self portraits.

toothbrush chart to hang up in their bathroom to help with forming the good
habit of brushing their teeth two times a day.

make to help them stay healthy and strong.
