I’m a graduate of Purdue University and hold an MA and PhD in British
Renaissance and Medieval Literature with a focus on intellectual history for
the same periods. Along the way, I’ve taught high school, college, and enjoyed
a successful career as an entrepreneur. I’m also a Bosque parent. Son
Zach graduated in 2005 and daughter Carolyn, in 2006.
In my spare time, I'm an avid reader, and a bit of a sports nut. I follow the
Purdue Boilermakers, especially football and basketball, the Indianapolis
Colts, and PGA Golf, majors in particular.
P.S. What's my number?
We stand on the shoulders of giants, intellectual, political, and cultural
giants, many of whom lived during what we call the Middle Ages, roughly 600-
1400 CE. Mighty empires collapsed, and a new world religion was born. From
Ireland to Alexandria and beyond, men labored to preserve and advance the
scientific and philosophic treasures of antiquity. Great cultures flourished
in India, China, Japan, and Mesoamerica. And peasants, slaves, serfs,
merchants, husbands and wives toiled to build a better future. We will study
their stories, with a particular emphasis on how their magnificent
achievements have shaped we men and women of the west.
