A Brief Bio

Born during the Nixon Administration in the heartland of America, I've been
fortunate enough to have a variety of life experiences that I bring with me to
Bosque. From living abroad to living on a submarine to living through an 8.0
magnitude earthquake, life has never been dull. If you want a story, I'll be
glad to pass one on to you, feel free to ask.

I come to Bosque with a good background in Physics and education. My initial
training came from the US Navy as I was a nuclear mechanic in both the
submarine and aircraft carrier communities. After I left the military, I went
to school and learned how to be a good teacher. I graduated from Ohio
University (Go Bobcats!) in 1999 and moved to California to begin my teaching
career.

I taught in Yucca Valley, CA for 4 years - gaining valuable classroom
experience during that time. I taught basic science courses such as Physical
Science and Earth Science but really found my desire to teach the upper level
course of College Prep Physics. Luckily for me, I was granted that
opportunity and taught 3 years of Physics at YVHS before I moved to another
school.

From the dry desert of California I moved to the rainy land of the
Netherlands. I spent 3 years teaching at the American International School of
Rotterdam and came to appreciate what dry weather can do for your outlook on
life. While in Holland, I taught a variety of courses from 6th grade Math to
12th grade I.B. Physics. While a member of the AISR family, I attended
graduate school in Plymouth, England and earned my masters degree in
Educational Technology from Michigan State University.

Longing for the warmth of a Latin country, I left Holland and made my way to
Lima, Peru where I taught I.B. Physics for 2 years at Colegio Franklin D.
Roosevelt (otherwise known as the American School of Lima). My time in Peru
was a truly eventful one and I enjoyed immersing myself in the Peruvian
culture for the time I was there. But after 5 years of being overseas, I made
my way back to the US and landing in Albuquerque - back to the sun and dry
weather I do so enjoy.

So what's next?

My goal at Bosque is to deliver an educational experience that combines my
multi-cultural background with my passion for teaching. Learning comes in
many forms and while I want my students to have an understanding for my
subject matter, I also want them to come away with a greater understanding for
the interconnectivity of the world and how it relates to them.

And I want to find the best burrito in ABQ...
