Can I hand in homework assignments late when I am not sick?

No. I only assign homework that is designed to prepare you for class, so it cannot be handed in 
late.

Can I hand in homework assignments late when I am sick?

Yes.  Please contact me as soon as you know you will be missing class or as soon as you are 
physically capable of discussing what you missed.  We will figure out when you should hand in 
the work so as to optimize your educational experience.  You should also check this website to 
keep up with reading assignments, etc.

Can I hand in an essay late?

English Class--Yes, but highly not recommended.  There is a 5% penalty for the first day an 
essay is late.  An additional 10% is taken off for each day it is late after that.  YOU CANNOT 
HAND IN AN ESSAY MORE THAN A WEEK AFTER THE DUE DATE.  I have seen many an essay slip 
away and cause much damage to an overall grade.  If you are absent the day the essay is due, 
my response to question #2 of FAQ applies.

Film Class--Essays must be handed in at the beginning of class on the day they are due and 
cannot be handed in late unless you have an excused absence.

Can I revise my essays?

English Class--Sometimes/often.  I will vary that depending on the writing experience that I 
want you to have.  If I do allow you to revise, then the revision is due within one week of the day 
that I hand back the essay.  You cannot hand in revisions late and must hand in the original, 
graded version to receive any credit.  The final grade on the essay will be the average of the 
original grade and the revision.

Film Class--essays cannot be revised for this class, so if you are worried, please have me look 
at an early draft.
