I am a licensed professional counselor as well as a licensed K-12 school 
counselor. I earned my B.A. in Psychology from the College of Santa Fe and my 
M.A. and Ph.D. from the University of New Mexico in Counseling and Family 
Studies. My special interests include the study of father-child attachment, 
solution-focused counseling, and grief/loss issues. 

I belong to the American School Counselor Association and I am a Nationally 
Certified Counselor with NBCC. I subscribe to their code of ethics and comply 
with all New Mexico state laws. 

Lori served as the President of the New Mexico School Counselor Association 
for the 2010-2011 school year.

Mission Of The Department

The school counselor's mission is to foster a supportive atmosphere in which 
students can develop emotionally, educationally, behaviorally, and socially 
by implementing a developmentally appropriate school-wide guidance and 
counseling program based on the ASCA National Model.  
Counseling Goals: 
•	Develop and implement a counseling program focused on the academic, 
career, and personal/social domains for all students. 
•	Provide individual and group counseling 
•	Provide information to parents and faculty related to the 
developmental and psychosocial issues of mid-school and high school students 
•	Facilitate counseling activities for students, staff, and parents 
•	Serve as a consultant to the school and the community 
•	To continue professional affiliations with the American School 
Counselor Association and the New Mexico School Counselor Association
