Assignment 10 Posted Monday, April 30  

Due Tuesday (ABC) and Wednesday (H) Complete the homework problem sheet- Acid/Base Titration Problems.


Assignment 9 Posted Tuesday, April 24 

Due Tuesday, April 24 (H block) complete the pH and pOH problems (ChemQuest 49).

Due Wednesday, A, B and C blocks. Complete the pH and pOH problems (ChemQuest 49). Also, Eduweb titration lab that you did in class on Monday is also due. 



Assignment 8 Posted Tuesday, April 3

Complete the boiling point elevation and freezing point depression problems on the handout from class. This is due Wednesday or Thursday of this week. Click here for a copy.

Assignment 7 Posted Saturday, March. 17

Spring break is almost history. Be proactive and start work on finishing up the solubility lab. I highly recommend that you also read through pages 466 through 473 to learn about the basic conceptual concepts of solutions. We will soon learn how we quantify solutions using mass precent, molarity, and molality. 

Conclusion statement for the solubility lab is due...Friday, March 23 for H block and Monday, March 26 for A, B and C blocks. These are to be typed, 1.5 spacing, 1 inch margins, size 10 or 12 font. Also, required sections in the lab notebook must be complete as well. Make sure your graph is in the notebook. The conclusion statement does not go in the lab notebook for this lab, it is to be handed in separately.


Assignment 6 Posted Tuesday, Feb. 14

Complete problems 2 and 3 on the limiting reagent note sheet. This handout explains how to solve a limiting reagent problem. Print it out and have it complete for the next class.


Test Dates for reaction stoichiometry are...

There are three powerpoint presentations in the Chem notes and Powerpoint page. Download each one and go through them. These will serve as your notes for the new unit.

NOTE: We will move very quickly and will not spend a lot of time on this unit so do your best to get started right away. 





The first assignment...

  • Get organized! Set up your 3-ring binder for the class. You can keep your
    (separate) lab notebook in your binder. Familiarize yourself with the class
    website. Subscribe to the News Flash page.
  • Go the the Chem Docs page and read  through the Classroom Rules and Expectations and the written lab and homework policy.
  • Also, Print out and read through the Lab Notebook Guidelines
  • From the Chem Docs page- print out the safety test and complete it.
  • Outline notes are posted for Chapter 2 in the notes section- print them out 
    if you wish.

What you must bring with your for the next class (Monday/Tuesday)...

  1. A single subject, spiral-bound notebook for labwork.
  2. The lab safety contract signed by you and your parent.
  3. Your completed safety test- it's mulitple choice and true false.
