The next unit will be on chemical equilibrium. You can start looking over the Chem 30 Website tutorial. Your textbook also does a good job introducing this concept so you may want to look at Chapter 17.
Tuesday of Thanksgiving week we will be doing a lab on Beer's Law which has to do with measuring concentrations in solutions.
TEST DATE FOR KINETICS UNIT - Friday, Nov. 20
Posting Date: Monday, Nov. 9
Due Thursday, Nov. 12. Be prepared to share your mini-presentation on a catalyst.
Also, you can expect a test on the kinetics unit sometime before Thanksgiving. More details and a final assignment are forthcoming. Test objectives are posted.

For the current unit on kinetics- go through the first two lessons at Chem 30...
Introduction to kinetics, and collision theory and reaction mechanisms. Since it is a tutorial, you should attempt to do the practice problems. The answers are there for you to check.
Test on Thermodynamics is Wednesday, Oct. 21

Due next class- complete the problem set handout (assignment 2) from the Chem 30 website.
Also, go through the entire Chem 30 lesson on entropy and do the online assignment for practice.
TEST OBJECTIVES ARE NOW POSTED.

Due the week after fall break- Tuesday, Oct. 13. Complete the problem set handout (assignment 3) from the Chem 30 website.
What's ahead in advanced chemistry?
We will use the Chem 30 website to learn about entropy and Gibb's free energy. This is Lesson 3 and immediately follows the lessons on Hess's Law. Look for more review problems and a set of test objectives to be available soon. Tentative test date is Wednesday, Oct. 21

Read pages 303-305 on Hess's law. Try to complete Self Check Exercises 10.6 on page 305.
NOTE: you can review Hess's Law at the Chem 30 website or at ChemTeam in the thermochemistry section.
