What is Geometry?

Geometry is the study of the size, shape and position of 2 dimensional shapes
and 3 dimensional figures. Most people will find this knowledge useful on a
regular basis in their personal and professional lives. A good understanding
of Geometry is required to master and often even appreciate many disciplines,
including art, architecture, engineering, astronomy, science, and sports to
name a few.

Course Description

The purpose of this course is to gain a working knowledge of the foundations
of geometry, including a solid understanding of its underpinning theories,
proofs and formulas. By the end of the course students will be able to
hypothesize, sketch, identify, sort, classify, construct, measure, and apply
a variety of geometric shapes and figures to prove theorems and solve
problems.
