Puzzle Project

Original Puzzle

Each student was given a one inch
numbered square from this
picture. They drew the image on a
larger square using pencil and
crayons. Students never saw the
completed puzzle. They only saw
their square.

Our completed puzzle

After students finished their
puzzle pieces, they assissted
Mrs. Holiday in putting the
puzzle together. Even though the
pieces were numbered, it was
challenging putting the pieces in
the right position.

Students learned that each member
of the class was important to
this project. If one student
didn't follow directions, we
didn't know where his or her
piece fit in the puzzle. If they
were absent, other students had
to chip in and do extra work.

Students agreed that even though
the original puzzle was nice, our
completed puzzle project was
beautiful.
