My name is Lesley Cummins. This is my 16th year of teaching. I have taught
second grade through eighth grade. This is my fourth year teaching at
Cochiti elementary school. I was born in New Mexico but grew up all over the
United States and even lived in Germany for three years. I moved back to New
Mexico 22 years ago. I graduated from the University of New Mexico with a
bachelor’s degree in Journalism and a master’s degree in Elementary
education. I am certified to teach kindergarten through eight grade,
bilingual education and English as a second language. Also, I am highly
qualified in math, science and language arts. My husband and I have three
children, a son 18, a daughter 6, and a daughter almost a year. I enjoy
reading, soccer, music, and spending time with my family. This year we are
going to try fly fishing!
Estamos frente a un gran comienzo y un gran año! Mi nombre es Lesley Cummins.
Esta es mi 16o año de la enseñanza. Me han enseñado de segundo grado hasta el
octavo grado. Este es mi cuarto año de enseñanza en la escuela primaria
Cochití. Nací en Nuevo México, pero creció en todo los Estados Unidos e
incluso vivido en Alemania durante tres años. Me mudé de vuelta a Nueva
México hace 22 años. Me gradué de la Universidad de Nuevo México con una
licenciatura en Periodismo y una maestría en educación primaria. Estoy
certificado para enseñar el kindergarten hasta el octavo grado, la educación
bilingüe y de Inglés como segundo idioma. Además, estoy altamente
cualificados en matemáticas, ciencias y artes del lenguaje. Mi esposo y yo
tenemos tres hijos, un hijo de 18 años, una hija de 6, y una hija de casi un
año. Me gusta leer, el fútbol, la música y pasar tiempo con mi familia. Este
año vamos a intentar la pesca con mosca!
Welcome to the fourth grade.
In fourth grade our goal is to continue preparing each child for a world
class education. I strive to foster the love of learning and making
connections to real life experiences.
I believe hands-on experiments, activities, and projects are a fun way to
explore various topics presented in the fourth grade curriculum.
I believe that every student is unique and has unlimited potential. I want
to provide an environment that encourages and enhances the individual
talents of each child.
