*Lesson 1 - Properties of Matter
Vocabulary- solid, liquid, gas, reaction, observation, chemistry, properties
Objective- The students will explore the properties of all three states of matter, learn about the size of atoms, and observe chemical reactions.
*Lesson 2 - Matter Can Change
Vocabulary- chemical change, non-Newtonian, physical change
Objective- The students will observe the difference between a physical and chemical change, measure a sign of a chemical change and explore a substance with properties of both liquid and solid.
*Lesson 3 - But Mass Doesn’t
Vocabulary-acid, base, mass, volume, weight
Objective- The students will build a balance scale and use it to find that volume can change but mass doesn’t.
*Lesson 4 - Density Matters
Vocabulary-density, mass, volume, displacement
Objective- Students learn why some things float and some things sink.
