Hello Parents!!! December 1, 2008
I can’t believe that November is done and that there are only 3 weeks until
Winter Break! November was such a difficult month in which to get a lot
done! This is the first full week we will have since October!
This week is the Scholastic Book Fair. Today, our class visited the fair
and students made out their wish list of what they wanted. You and your
child are welcome before/after school and during the recess time. If you are
not able to make it to the fair this week students are welcome to go down
during their recess time and buy books, but they must have their money sent
in with them before they are allowed to go down to the Library. I will send
students down for 10 minutes during the day (2-2:10 pm) if they are buying a
book.
Also this week, on Friday, we will be having our Donation Drive Ice Cream
Party. 100% of the families in our class responded! Yippee! We will be
having our party from 2:30-3pm.
We are going to be having our Winter Wonderland Classroom Party on December
17th. It’s the last Wednesday of the month. I will be sending our more
information after this week, but I did want to tell parents (especially
since the book fair is going on) that this year our class will be doing a
book exchange. Boys will exchange a boy-ish book with another boy. Girls
will exchange a book with another girl. Please wrap the book and designate
if the book is for a girl or a boy.
Tomorrow in Math we will begin counting to 1000! If you could send in
(empty, bare) T.P. rolls that would be great! We will be using the rolls
as “scroll” containers. Students roll up the numbers grid like scrolls and
it’s an easy way to keep everything together!
Our class is almost out of Paper Towels! Yikes! Our wonderful paper towels
the school supplies to our classroom just does not do the magic trick of
holding any water! If you could send in a roll or two that should get us by
for a while!
Last note, I had a nice time talking with you all during Parent Teacher
Conference. It was good to sit down and talk with you about your child and
how they are doing! Also, it was nice to get to sit down and meet you!
Thank you so much for sharing your child with me!
If you have any questions or concerns let me know and we can set something
up before the next conference time.
Thank you,
Shannon Batzer
