Dear Parents,
Story Snack can be a wonderful experience
for you, your child, and our class. The idea is to read a book and bring in a
simple snack that is related to a character or idea in the story. One spring,
a parent read a story about a rabbit. She and her son prepared a simple snack
made from a rice cake, peanut butter, and celery sticks. She arranged the
items on a plate to look like a rabbit.
I invite you or a grandparent to share a
Story Snack with our class this year. You can either choose a book at home
with your child or I can help with a suggestion. I’ve listed, on the back of
this letter, possible book titles and suggested snacks. You may also want to
choose to make a special or traditional family recipe and read a book related
to this. It is best if the snack is a finger food that can be simply prepared
at home with your child the night before you are to share with our class. We
will, of course, consult when the date is confirmed.
I hope you can share a Story Snack one
time this year. Please leave a message for me at 877-9718 or write me a note
or email me if you are interested. I will get back to you as soon as
possible.
Sincerely,
Miss Romero
