How long have you been teaching?
I have been a Teacher for 7 years. I have taught for 6 years at Pajarito Elementary and 1 year in Las
Vegas,NM.
What made you want to become a teacher?
I have always wanted to be a teacher for as long as I can remember. I love working with kids. I feel
like I'm making a real difference!

What is the behavior stick?
At Pajarito, we have a school wide discipline policy. Each student has a clip with their name on it.
Each child starts the day off on green. The child stays on green if their behavior is positive. The
will move their clip if they are not following the rules.
Green- Great Behavior
Yellow- 1 warning, student owes detention
Orange- 2 warnings, student owes detention and calls home
Red- 3 warnings, student owes detention, calls home and is written a referral to the office.
Students will document their behavior in their home-communication logs, please be sure and
check this nightly.
What is the 25 book campaign?
We are on a mission to get students to read and get to proficiency and beyond. We are challenging
students to read 25 books at their independent level.

What are your qualifications?
-I have a Bachelors Degree in Elementary Education from New Mexico Highlands University.
-I have a K-8 Level II License in New Mexico
-I am TESOL Endorsed (Teaching English to Students of Other Languages)
Can my child celebrate his/her birthday in class?
Yes. You may bring a snack for everyone in the class. Because we have a large class,
we cannot spend too much instructional time, so I ask that if you want to celebrate a birthday,
that you contact me ahead of time. Usually 10 minutes before recess is plenty of time.
What is the Promethean whiteboard?
The promethean is a system of software and interactive tools to assist in teaching/learning. It
serves as a projector and has video and audio. Anything that can be done on a computer screen can
be projected onto the white board. It is the latest in Classroom technology.

Can I come and visit your class?
Of course. I have an open door policy and welcome any visitors.Be sure to check our class schedule to
make sure we will be there. Please make sure that you check in at the office before entering the
classroom.
Why do you assign homework?
Homework not only reinforces the skills learned in class, but also helps Students' develop good study
habits. I want to give my students' the best education possible and I believe homework will help my
students' achieve their goals.
