Due dates are given in class. They are written on the hard copies students
have in their folders.

Helpful reminders for all work and study:
_____Use www.classzone.com to study or your textbook if you are traveling.
Send me an email from your school email account if you don’t have access to
the internet at home at any time during the year!
_____Write (or type) slowly and carefully when practicing.
_____Say the words aloud while writing.
_____Add the accents immediately after the letter, not after the word.
_____There are several study techniques taught in class. Pick one that works
for you or explore a new way and see what works for you.

Also:
Remember where at home you are storing your textbook for home use & tell your
parents.
Know where your 4X6 white blank index cards are at home. Keep some on hand.
Make sure you currently have access to the online tutorial:
www.classzone.com. Without it, you cannot do all assignments.
How many minutes a night are you expected to study? -30 minutes
How often should you write English translations in your comp book? -Almost
never.
When are the quizzes I am studying for? -If there is a quiz, it is on the
homework check day.
When is the homework check day? -Homework check day is on B days.
Homework grades are determined on hw check days: You will be graded on two
things: 1.) You will be asked how much time you put in. 30 minutes a day = 2
and ½ hours over the 5 days. 2.) You will need to have a separate reflective
entry in your comp book representing each tarea (homework) number/ study
session. You cannot combine two numbers as one entry. There must be some
evidence and/or explanation of your study. Always be prepared to speak about
what you did.

Prepare flashcards with the following content by placing the Spanish sentence
(s) and the English sentence(s) on one side and the photo on the other side
of your index cards. Be ready to recite the sentences from memory when
looking at the photos. The photos should be chosen thoughtfully. The photos
are what help you remember the sentences:
1. ¿Hay una prueba el lunes? Is there a quiz on Monday?
2. ¿Tienes un lápiz que me prestas? Do you have a pencil you can loan me?
3. Tenemos que estudiar porque la prueba es difícil. We have to study
because the quiz is hard.
4. Tengo mi tarea hoy. Lo siento que se la entrego a Ud. tarde. I have my
homework today. I am sorry I am turning it in to you late.
5. Unos chicos siempre llegan tarde. Some kids always arrive late.
6. Unos chicos siempre llegan temprano. Some kids always arrive early.
7. Nunca tiene un lápiz en la clase de español. He or she never has a pencil
in Spanish class.
8. Estudian mucho porque quieren sacar buenas notas en la escuela. They study
a lot because they want to get good grades in school.
9. ¿Tenemos que sacar un lápiz? Do we have to get out a pencil?
10. Tienen un partido de baloncesto. Tienen que ir temprano. They have a
basketball game. They have to leave early.
11. Todos los días tenemos que ir a la escuela excepto los sábados y los
domingos. Every day we have to go to school except Saturdays and Sundays.
12. Tengo que tomar apuntes mucho en la clase de inglés. I have to take
notes often in English class.
13. Nunca tenemos que tomar apuntes en la clase de educación física. We
never have to take notes in P.E.
14. ¿A qué hora necesitas llegar a la escuela? Necesito llegar a las ocho de

4. Tenemos mucha tarea hoy en la clase de matemáticas. We have a lot of
homework today in math.
5. ¿Estudiaste para la prueba de historia? ¿Estudias todos los días para la
clase de historia? Did you study for the History quiz? Do you study every
day for History class?
6. Nosotros montamos en bicicleta después de las clases. We ride our bikes

8. Si llueve, les gusta leer libros. If it’s raining, they like to read
books.

we have soccer practice early, at six in the morning. (Literally: Tomorrow we
practice soccer early, at six in the morning.)
10. Yo preparo la comida de vez en cuando. I make lunch(literally: the food)
every once in awhile.
11. Los chicos dibujan en la clase de arte. The kids draw in art class.
12. Uds. necesitan contestar muchas preguntas en español en clase. You guys
need to answer a lot of questions in Spanish in class.
13. Todos los viernes mi familia y yo compramos una pizza y miramos la
televisión. Every Friday my family and I buy a pizza, and we watch t.v.
