Ms. Mick is currently a level II teacher.
Ms. Mick received a B.S. in Health Education and a Mathematics endorsement
from UNM.
Ms. Mick is a Nationally Board Certified Teacher in the area of Early Adolescent Mathematics.
Ms. Mick has been a teacher at Valley High School for fifteen years.
Ms. Mick teaches Math at Valley High School and Albuquerque
Evening High School.
Ms. Mick is the Site Coordinator for Albquerque Evening High School Eldorado
Site on Mondays and Wednesdays.
Ms. Mick has participated in the writing of the current State Standards and
Benchmarks for Health along with course discriptions for the APS District.
Ms. Mick is an award winning teacher and has been been a Disney
American Teacher Award nominee.
Ms. Mick strives to provide a safe and fair atmosphere for teaching and
learning in her classroom.
Ms. Mick recently won an award of accomplishment from the School Health
Education Institute. She was one of two out of the entire state of New
Mexico and 150 particpants.
Ms. Mick recently participated in the selection of Power Standards for all
APS Geometry classes.
Ms. Mick wrote the curriculum guidelines for Summer School Health and
Algebra I.
Ms. Mick was a presenter at the School Health Education Institute in 2006.
Ms. Mick has participated as a member and leader of numerous Small Learning
Communities.
Students will learn personal responsibility and will gain a greater
understanding of the positive and negative affects of their choices.
Students will gain a better understand of mathematics and how they impact
daily life.
