IMPORTANT SCHOOLWIDE ANNOUNCEMENTS:
MABEL'S LABELS FUNDRAISER
Bedford Academy is holding a fundraiser with Mabel's Labels which is a
company that makes personalized labels to help kids keep track of their
stuff. Their labels are dishwasher, microwave and laundry safe and even have
cool icons to help little ones keep track of their belongings. They are
perfect to label clothing and other items that your child will be bringing to
daycare, school and summer camp.
This year's fundraiser is online so please follow the link
www.bedfordacademy.mabelslabels.com to make your purchases. Bedford Academy
will be credited with a portion of the sales which we will use to buy Math
and Science materials for the school. The campaign starts on May 1st and will
continue through until October 31st. If you have any questions about the
fundraiser, please see Michele Barr (Grade 1 teacher) or email her at
mbarr@bedfordacademy.ca.
Thanks for your support.
FAMILY SKATE
The Bedford Academy Annual Family Skate will take place on Tuesday, February
21st at 1:00 pm. Grade One students must be transported to the LeBrun Centre
by a parent. All students must have their own skates and wear a CSA-approved
helmet.
COYOTE SIGHTING
We were informed today by a Brookshire Court area resident of a coyote
sighting along the path in the rear of the school. Director, Nancy Wallace
immediately contacted the Natural Resources Department and Butch Galvez, a
Wildlife Technician, walked the trail and confirmed the tracks were in fact a
coyote. He spoke to the entire student body and we were informed of what
exactly our students should do if they come in contact with a coyote. Our
students will not play in the woods during recess and noon for the remainder
of the week.
Information brochures from Nova Scotia Department of Natural Resources have
been distributed.
Please call Nancy Wallace at 835-2384 with any questions.
