ROOM 74!
November 9, 2009
Dear Families,
This week we will again have only 4 school days. Therefore, our homework will
have only three assignments. Of course, studying spelling words each evening
will be first. Next will come working on one reading skill project this
week. It is a review lesson that will help the children to cement the use of
vowels and consonants (refer to last week’s homework letter with
the ‘cvc’ ‘cvce’ and ‘cvvc’ rules). The last assignment will be lots of
cuddled up reading with you, or with some other reading helper like a big
sister or brother. Each child is, as normal, bringing home a reading book on
their level. This week, they may exchange that book each day if they would
like. Just tuck it in their backpack and have them be responsible for asking
me about an exchange. Or, you and your child might choose to keep the same
book up until Friday when their book should be returned to the classroom.
Have a good day off together on Wednesday, November 11th, as we reflect upon
all of our veterans of the past and present that are keeping our country safe.
