If my child is sick, do I have to send a note?
If a child is absent from school, he/she must have a written excuse from the parent or guardian
stating the reason for and the date of the absence. This excuse must be presented to the
classroom
teacher no later than 3 days after your child returns to school.
Can I prepay for my child's lunch?
Yes, if you prepay and your child has $5.00 or more in his/her account, he/she will be given a card
to pass through the lunch line more quickly. You or your child may bring the money to the
lunchroom before school begins. You may also pay for school lunch online by going to:
http://www.ccsd.net/foodservice
What is the dress code?
Children are required to wear appropriate school shoes and socks. (Open-toed shoes and thongs
are
not allowed for safety reasons.) All shorts, skirts, and dresses must be at fingertip length. If
shorts
are worn, they must be hemmed and without fraying. Children may not wear crop tops (no skin
showing between bottom of shirt/blouse and top of pants or skirts). All sleeveless shirts must
have
straps at least three inches wide and cover the shoulder.
How do I pick up my child for a early dismissal?
The parent/guardian is required to sign the office release log and will be asked to show photo I.D.
A child will not be released to a person who is not listed on the enrollment card.
Why do I have to check in and out when I visit my child's school?
The Clark County School District welcomes and encourages visits to schools and other facilities by
parents, other adult residents of the community, and interested educators. In order for the
educational program to continue undisturbed when visitors are present and to prevent the intrusion
of disruptive persons into the schools, it is necessary to invoke visitor controls. One of these
controls is to check in and receive a visitor's badge.
