Birthday Treats?

You may bring treats for the students in our Advisory at 2:00. Please remember to bring enough for
the entire class and please do not share with other Advisories unless enough is brought for all 4/5
students. Remember that peanut products should not be used if possible.

Summer Birthdays?

If a student has a summer birthday we will celebrate that student's half-birthday.
This way all students will be able to bring treats and celebrate with their classmates.

Field Trips?

I try to take my Advisory students on a field trip each month.
We ALWAYS need drivers with the correct insurance given to the office. EKA requires that drivers
have $100,000 per person and $300,000 per accident in bodily injury.
I will place the students in the cars.
Adults pay for their own entry fees.
Siblings should NOT attend.
If I have too many drivers I will NOT let you know ahead of time for fear of people deciding
that I don't need them and then I end up not having enough drivers.

Book Orders?

Books orders will be sent home each month. Students are not required to buy anything.
There are two ways to pay for the books:
- Go online, sign in with our class code and order the books directly from Scholastic.
http://clubs.scholastic.com/ - Class Code:J9CLY (find the link on the link page)
- Send a CHECK made out to Scholastic to school with the order form.

Projects?

Students will be working on projects all year long. At the start of the project they will be given a list
of standards to choose to study.
Everything they need to know to do their work is located in their planners. The rubric, visual ideas,
project proposal and how to write a bibliography are all located in the front of the planners.
Students need to work in class AND at home to complete all that is required for any given project.
