Homework
Homework is assigned every day. Students should write their homework and other daily items in their agendas. Below is some general information about homework.
Daily Signatures
Students need to get the following signed by a parent/guardian every day. It is the student's responsibility to remember to get the signature.
Agenda
should be signed at the bottom of each day
The
reading log
needs a signature each day after the 20 minutes of reading are complete and the log is filled in
The
Word Study Journal
should be signed each day after the assignment is complete
Reading
Students are expected to read for at least 20 minutes every day, including Saturday and Sunday. Students will now be bringing home a reading log to complete each night and return to school each Monday. Parents need to sign the log each day. Please only sign one day at a time.
Additionally, students are expected to take 2 Accelerated Reader tests EACH WEEK! Students can verify if their books are available on Accelerated Reader by going to
www.arbookfind.com
. Accelerated Reader tests are a part of the reading grade.
Word Study
Students have assignments for every day. Students should have which assignment they need to complete written in their agenda. Here is a brief outline of the assignments for each day.
Day 1 - Write each word 3 times each on the week's page 1
Day 2 - Students complete an assignment from Tic-Tac-Toe on the week's page 2
Day 3 -
Students complete an assignment from Tic-Tac-Toe on the week's page 3
Day 4 -
Students complete an assignment from Tic-Tac-Toe on the week's page 4
Day 5 - Students need to get a signature on their test page
