The Academy of St. Joseph has won the 2008 Archaeological Institute of
America/Long Island Society's Tribut Fund Grant. The grant is $400.00 and
will be used to purchase archaeological books, a video and two magazine
subscriptions to enhance the curriculum.

The Academy of St. Joseph has won the 2008 We the People Bookshelf Grant for
the theme of "Created Equal." The Bookshelf is a collection of 17
classic hardcover books for young readers, all related to the Created Equal
theme. In addition, libraries will receive 4 of these books in Spanish
translation, a bonus �History in a Box� resource kit created by the Gilder
Lehrman Institute of American History, and supplementary materials for
programming, including bookplates, boomarks, and posters (description from
the NEH website).

The Academy of St. Joseph has been chosen as a recipient of the 2008
Picturing America Award. The award consists of 20 laminated double-sided
reproductions of famous American art. The posters will be displayed around
the Academy and used to support our curriculum. For more information about
