Message from the Principal
Welcome to the Arthur S. May School! We are a K-5 school with approximately 500 students. At Arthur S. May School, our goal is helping students become successful learners. Our Arthur S. May AMAZING ACHIEVERS program creates ways to recognize individual and group success. Our PTA supports the Arts-In-Education programs that frequent our school. These programs become a celebration for our AMAZING ACHIEVERS.

Dear Key Communicators,
A female high school student alerted a school administrator that she was approached and grabbed in the buttocks by an adult this morning (10/29/09) while walking to the bus stop on Main Street in the Town of Poughkeepsie near Dunkin Donuts. Trooper Schraff, the High School Student Resource Office (SRO), was notified and she is working in conjunction with the family and the Town of Poughkeepsie Police. After speaking with the Town of Poughkeepsie Police, Trooper Schraff has learned that this person may have been responsible for similar incidents at Vassar College. The suspect is described as follows: Hispanic male, 5 foot 6, buzz cut or no hair, medium complexion, wearing a black hoodie, black sweat pants and running shoes.

***DATES***
There has been a change to the 2009-2010 Arlington School Year Calendar. The Superintendent’s Conference Day originally scheduled for Friday, April 23 has been moved to Monday, April 19. Teachers will attend on April 19, but school will not be in session.
The change was made in consideration of the state tests, which were moved by the NYS Education Department from January to April. This change will allow for greater educational continuity the week before the tests.
