Ways to practice words:

1. Practice writing the words with chalk on the ground, in shaving
cream, with play-dough or wikki sticks, with a wet sponge on a dry
surface, with pretzel sticks (lines)and cheerios (curves), and in
jello or sugar.

2. Write the words on index cards or post-its and stick them around
the house.

3. Imagine you have a camera and take an imaginary picture of it. Say
the word out loud and spell it. Can you use it in a sentence?

4. Find a partner. Take turns writing the words on each others back
with your finger.

5. Buy an alphabet cereal or abc cookies-can you spell out a word?

6. Play a game of memory or go fish with 10 words.

7. Do you have magnetic letters on your refrigerator? Say a word and
have your child write the word back using the magnetic letters.
