What if my child is absent or has lessons during your class?

Missed class work can be made up in a variety of ways. They can
make up the
assignment missed by using the computers in the library or in the
computer
lab. A student must make arrangements with me regarding this.

Will my child fail if they cannot type?

Students that have undeveloped typing skills are encouraged to
practice
during their free time. The computer lab is open after school
most days and
permits the students to practice with Ultra Key. Any typing
tutor
used at home will help to build their skills. The key to
building skills is
to remember not to look at the keys!

Will you teach my child to type?

Due to the amount of time given to complete three enormous
programs (Word,
Excel and Power Point) there is not enough time to adequately
teach
keyboading.
What we do have available is UltraKey, a typing tutor. As a
student finishes
their class assignments, they are permitted to practice their
typing skills
through this independent typing tutor. It includes drill and
practice in
addition to games that keep their interest peeked.

Why doesn't my child have homework in your class?

Due to the variety of software programs available it is easier to
have
everyone using the same program. Students receive direct
instruction at the
beginning of an assignment. Afterwards, they read from step-by-
step
directions which include screen shots to complete the assignment
independently. As the need arises, I assist the students in
areas that need
further explanation.
