Course Description: Introduction to the profession of Athletic Training; basic theory and methods associated with prevention and management of athletic injuries and illnesses. Physical Education credit (1/4 credit)
Course Objectives:
1) To develop an appreciation for the athletic training profession.
2) To develop knowledge and understanding of the responsibilities of an athletic trainer.
3) To obtain knowledge in the prevention, evaluation, care of athletic injuries.
4) To obtain knowledge in the general principles of rehabilitation.
5) To develop an understanding of the function, organization and operation of the athletic training room.
6) To obtain the knowledge and skills necessary to provide First Aid and CPR.
7) To develop knowledge of human anatomy and physiology.
