Reading is the Holy Grail of education, there's just no substitute for it.
The default homework for all of my classes is to read your independent(chosen
and approved) novels for at least fifteen minutes per night. You have
approximately thirty days to read each book. About once a week there will be
a written homework assignment, such as vocabulary sentences, creative
writing, etc. These assignments are five or ten points depending on their
size. After thirty days you will have to demonstrate that you have read your
book in an in class assessment.
