Principal's Message

Progress reports for the 4th quarter will be mailed out on Thursday, May 24th. With the progress reports will be a Guidance Newsletter which contains a list of the important dates for the last 5 weeks of school. Please note that the last day of school for all students will be Wednesday, June 20th. I would also ask that as the weather warms up that all students please make note of the LMS dress code. Thank you.

Return Days

March 13, 2012

Dear Faculty, Parents, and Students,

Thanks to a mild winter, to date Arlington schools were closed only one day due to inclement weather (October 31). Arlington builds five emergency days into our school year calendar. As a
result, if we do not use all five days, they are “returned” and schools will not be in session on these return days. Provided we do not use more than two emergency days between now and March 30, the spring recess will be extended through April 10. Spring break will begin on April 2 and students will return to school on Wednesday, April 11. In addition, if we do not use any emergency days in April or May, the Memorial Day weekend will be extended. School will be closed (for students and faculty) from Thursday, May 24 through Tuesday, May 29. School will reopen after the long weekend on Wednesday, May 30. Please note that this schedule will change if schools are closed due to weather or any other unanticipated emergency. We are looking forward to a productive spring semester for all Arlington students, faculty, and staff. If you have any questions about how return days are determined, pleases visit our website at
www.arlingtonschools.org or call my office at 486-4460.

Sincerely,
Lorenzo Licopoli
Interim Superintendent of Schools
