REMINDER:
Students are also reminded to LOCK UP ALL BELONGINGS DURING CLASS! Do not leave electronics, money, jewlery and other valuables in the locker rooms during class.
SCHOOL FITNESS TESTING:
All physical eduation students will be participating in the Fall, Winter and Spring Fitness Testing. During fitness testing, students work with partners to determine how many sit-ups and push-ups they can do successfully with proper form, as well as how flexible they are (sit and reach test). Students also participate in running/walking endurance testing such as the timed mile or the "pacer" test (an indoor endurance test). These tests are designed for students to do what they can to the best of their ability. This is in NO WAY a contest or a competition. Student performance is discrete and the nature of this fitness testing is to privide students with knowledge about themselves, and to promote awareness and understanding of personal fitness levels. If students are aware of their own fitnes level, they are more likely to work on improvement knowing that they will undergoe that same test in the near future. The PE Department is working closely with students to help them set personal fitness goals, as well as improve self-confidence and self esteem. lifestyle!
