Mr Rawdon enjoyed science in high school and obtained a Bachelor of Science
(Chemistry) degree from Clarkson University (Potsdam, NY). He worked as a
chemist for Texaco Inc for 25 years in a number of assignments including
chemical analysis, regulatory affairs, product development, and customer
technical support. Once Texaco was acquired by Chevron, Mr. Rawdon returned
to school, earning a Master of Science (Education) degree from Mount Saint
Mary College. He has been teaching at AHS since 2004. He is the father of
two sons who both enjoy science in their own, unique way. When he is not
teaching, Mr. Rawdon stays busy as a nationally certified rock and ice
climbing instructor.
The goal is always for the students to master the basic principles of
Chemistry and a means of developing their problem solving and abstract
thinking skills.
