How many lab minutes do I need to qualify to take the Regents exam?
Each student needs 1200 minutes of successful lab time. The lab
must earn a passing grade to count toward minutes.
What should I do if I miss a lab?
You have a maximum of 1 week to make up any work after being
absent, including labs. Labs must be made up after school.
What should I do if my lab work is marked 're-do'?
'Re-do' on a lab means that the lab did not earn a passing grade.
You should come after school to get help fixing the lab. You must
have 65% correct in order to earn minutes. Your lab grade will be
raised based on your corrections to a maximum of 65%. It must be
completed in the same marking period it was assigned.
What happens if I do not complete 1200 minutes of lab time?
You cannot take the Regents exam unless you have 1200 minutes of
lab time, and those labs must be stored in your lab folder in the
classroom. If you cannot take the exam, you cannot earn course
credit and fail the class. Also, you cannot qualify for summer school without
completing 1200 lab minutes.
How can parents get in touch with Mrs. Price with questions or concerns?
You have 2 options. You can email me at eprice@acsdny.org. I
check my school email every school day and will reply as soon as
possible. You can also call the school and leave a message 486-
4860, ext. 2203 for me to return your call.
Can I do extra credit?
I provide one extra credit opportunity each marking period to
help boost quiz/test scores. On a bi-weekly basis, I provide an
optional "bonus" homework to help make up for any missed homework
assignments, or to boost homework scores. The bonus homework is
often over the weekend.
How can I get extra help?
Just ask. I am always available to help you with homework, labs,
studying, or any other Earth Science questions. I will be
regularly available after school Wednesdays and Thursdays, plus I
am happy to schedule other times when possible.
What is tonight's homework? When is the next test?
Students are given paper calendars bi-weekly. This TeacherWeb
site has assignment pages for each class period. Click on the
links on the left of the screen.
