Now that the Holidays are over we start what may be your child’s most productive time of the school year. With the exception of snow days, and two holidays this will be the longest stretch of uninterrupted instruction for the year. Once springtime hits and the big outdoors opens up for another season, there are a number of distractions which are all very valuable but they often take the focus away from the classroom. The winter months and early spring are a great time to choose home activities that support and reinforce what is being taught in the classroom. With less hours of daylight, sleep becomes easier for all of us and an extra hour or two will really make a difference the next day. Study and work habits can be refined and hopefully become more automatic throughout the year. I will do my best to “practice what I preach” and hopefully you and your family will join me for a successful and enjoyable new year!
