Homework is a great way to reinforce skills and strategies taught in the classroom. It provides your budding learner with additional opportunities to work with and practice concepts.
Homework for the week is outlined in a sheet handed out at the beginning of each week. Please help your child fill out the "Reading Log" portion of the sheet, as well as making sure that the sheet is signed each night and returned in the "Take Home" folder. Your cooperation is greatly appreciated. It helps when we're all on the same page!
**If your child would like to do more than the 10 minutes of required reading per night, please encourage this! I've also had parents tell me that their child likes to write independently (lists, journals, cards) and this should also be encouraged. The more your child becomes an independently motivated reader and writer, the more he/she will use these skills in the classroom!
