EDUCATION/TEACHING:
I graduated from Boston University in 2002 with a BA in Sociology. While in
Boston I lead a literacy-based afterschool program and completed a teaching
program in two of Boston's public schools. Heading back to my native state
of New York, I then served for two years with the Teach For America Program
in the Bronx. Commuting each morning from Poughkeepsie I taught 1st grade
during the school year and 3rd grade over the summer. I graduated in 2004
from Pace University with a Masters in Teaching. From 2004-2005 I taught 5th
grade at Titusville Intermediate School. I have taught first grade at Traver
Road Primary School since the fall of 2005.
(I am committed to being a lifelong learner and will encourage your children
to be the same! :-)
