This is my 24th year teaching in Arlington and my 8th year at Union Vale
Middle School. I hold a BS in Music Education with a concentration on violin
from SUNY Potsdam- Crane School of Music. I also hold a MS in music
education from Western Conneticut State University.I am a certified NYSSMA
adjudicator and enjoy guest conducting and teaching. I am the director of the
Prelude orchestra for the Stringendo Orchestra School of the Hudson Valley. I
also enjoy performing in the Newburgh Symphony Orchestra as well as the
Northern Dutchess Symphony Orchestra.
I have a husband and 2 sons- Louis is a senior at AHS and is a cellist
and pianist and Matthew is a sixth grader at Arlington Middle School
and plays viola and piano. I love spending time together as a family and we
go to concerts and other musical events often.I also enjoy camping, reading,
travel when possible, and playing music. I currently am the principal second
violinist in the Northern Dutchess Symphony Orchestra.
I believe every student should be exposed to all types of music through
performance, composition, exposure to outstanding performances, and
listening activities. It is my hope to inspire and instruct all students to
a better understanding and love of their instrument as well as teach
organization, persistence, and teamwork through lessons and orchestra.It is
my goal for students to learn from and enjoy their experience and have music
as part of their entire life.
