Mr. Braggins is the Art Department Coordinator at the high school and a teacher of Studio in Art and
Computer Graphics. He graduated from Rochester Institute of Technology, College of Fine and Applied
Art (BFA, MST) and also attended the Tamarind Institute at the University of New Mexico. In addition, he
attended SUNY New Paltz and received Administrative certification from the State of New York. He
enjoys teaching at Arlington High School and working with all of the extremely talented and gifted
students in the art department.
The Mission of the Studio in Art course is for students:
To gain a thorough knowledge of the Elements of Art and the Principles of Design.
To complete a practical application of their use by producing works of art in a wide range of media
and technique.
To gain an appreciation of the cultural connections between peoples and the art they make.
To be able to use the language of art in discussing their own work and the works of others.
To have a positive art experience in the course of study.
The Mission of the Computer Graphics course is:
To become familiar with the Mac operating system.
To gain a working knowledge of computer graphics software applications.
To be able to complete visual problem solving by applying software effectively in the creation of
graphic solutions.
To be able to use the language of art to describe computer generated solutions.
To gain an understanding of the computer as a 21st century tool for creating art.
To gain an appreciation of the different roles artists play in computer graphics such as the graphic
designer, illustrator, animator, art director, web site designer and advertiser.
