A local public service television station has asked your production company
to produce a documentary on civil rights infringements. Your company's
challenge is to produce a five-minute video documentary identifing a
significant historical event that led to the United States government
imposing infringements on individual civil liberties. The public service
television station has suggested the following events and groups as possible
topics: ,font size>
Early 1900's/Women, Post World War I Red
Scare/Immigrants, Depression/ Hobos, World War II/Japanese Americans, The
Fifties-Sixties/ Black Americans.
Your company must choose one of the suggested topics and
present an accurate account of the time period or event, the reaction by
John Q. Public, the experiences of the targeted group, and the specific
actions taken by the government (US, State or local)and why they took those
actions. The producer has decided to form three member teams to investigate
the various time periods. One member of each team will be responsible for
researching and reporting on public opinion. The second team member
will explore and report on the experiences of the targeted group. The
third member of the team will examine and report on specific government
actions taken during that time period and the reasons for those
actions.
Remember, you are working together to present a realistic
representation of each point of view during that time period.
