What does my child need for school?

Each day your child should bring a backpack and a take home folder.
Students will also need a rest mat or towel each day, which can be kept in
his/her cubby. For recess, your child should be prepared to go outdoors, so
appropriate clothing will be needed. Please make sure your child has extra
shoes if he/she wears boots.

How can my child purchase lunch or snack?

Please put money in a sealed baggy or envelope, and put this in your child's
folder. In the morning the children put money in their lunch cup, which
they will bring to the cafeteria. Lunches, milk, and snacks are available
for purchase each day. If your child forgets his/her lunch, the cafeteria
will provide one, and you will be given a charge slip.
For information on free/reduced lunches, please contact the cafeteria.

Does my child have homework?

I do not give regular homework assignments for kindergarten. From time to
time I will send home a project that your child can do at home, with his/her
family. In addition, your child may bring home school work to finish that
had not been completed during the school day. I always encourage families
to help their kindergarteners practice at home all of the skills we learn in
the classroom. Please go through the papers and projects your child takes
home each day to see what we are learning in class, and to let your child
know how impressed you are at his/her hard work!

What should my child bring for Show and Tell?

I encourage students to bring in an object that serves an educational
purpose, is meaningful to your child, or something that ties into a theme we
are working on in school. The student should have something that he/she
feels comfortable and knowledgeable talking about. It might help for your
child to practice at home, and have at least three things that he/she will
say about their show and tell object. I ask for parents' cooperation in
encouraging your child not to bring toys in for show and tell, or for any
other purpose.
