2004-Heifer International,http://www.heifer.org/ combats hunger,
alleviates poverty, and restores the environment by providing
appropriate livestock, training, and related services to small-scale
farmers worldwide. With previous fundraisers the East Lake children,
staff and community have raised over $1,300 hundred dollars towards
this-non profit organization. The chart below demonstrates our gift
to the Heifer organization last Spring.

2005-2006 School Year
Halloween News!!
Our pumpkin contest was a great success. 51 pumpkins were created this year.
Look for pictures and pumpkin winners in the front lobby of the school. We
raised $550.00 dollars. A great big thank you to everyone who participated.
June News!
This year we collected $690.00. The students just completed the survey. We
will be purchasing the following items. Thank you to everyone and have a
great summer!

2006-2007 School year- The pumpkin contest was a great success! We generated $350.00. This gift
of money was sent to Oprah's Angel Network. Touching the lives of school children who
were devasted by Hurricane Katrina.
2007-7008 School year- The pumpkin contest was wonderful this year. The children created over 90
festive pumpkins. The children rasied $570.00 dollars for charity. The carnation fundraiser
generated $700. It was a big success. The children voted and chose two wonderful charities.The
two charities choosen were (Little Dancers and Toy Lending Center)Look for Fundraising updates

2008-2009 The school year started with a trip to both charities(Little Dancers and Toy Lending
Center) What a great experience for our East Lake Students.Our Pumpkin Contest was a big success
and we collected over $300 dollars. Our Holiday Mitten Tree was a new idea this year and turned
out to be very heartwarming and successful. We collected over 300 pairs of mittens. Our last fundraiser of the year generated $400.00. The kids loved the carnations. There was a lot of love in the air. The monies raised will be used for our East Lake Beautification Project. Thank you, for your generosity and for making a difference here at East Lake School.
2009-2010
We raised $800 this year during our Pumpkin Contest and Carnation Day. The monies collected will go towards our Beautification of East Lake Project. Looking forward to planting a beautiful tree this Fall. Also, instead of mittens we collected 500 pairs of socks which were donated to a local shelter. Thank you for making a difference.
2010-2011
This year the monies collected went toward the Beautification of East Lake. A beautiful tree was planted in the inner courtyard. A great big thanks to all those who participated in the Pumpkin Contest. Thank you parents for your continued support.
