imperative that you make 5 individual appointments for practice before your
formal test in April or May. They should be scheduled during Activity
Periods!!! Weekly writings are assigned and due every week. They are your
only homework (usually) so they are worth A LOT!!! Don't slack off!!!

I hope you all had wonderful winter breaks. I sure did. This is our
beginning of an unbelievably short ride to the end of the year. There are
about 15 weeks left of school! Can you believe it? Interims end this
week. ****** All of you HAVE to sign up for at least 5 after school
speaking practice cram classes (by the end of the March). That is about
when the formal testing will start. So when you sign up, make sure you keep
your appointment. No shows are poorly tolerated!!! (Just let me know if
you cannot make it!). Weekly writing this week is the Proficiency notes
practice, and our Unit Test on House and Home is Friday and Monday!

Well the month is over and the new quarter has begun. I worked on this
year's proficiency exam at the State Education Building this week. What
fun!!! We better get in gear and practice practice practice!!!
We begin our new unit on house and home (continued from 6th grade).
Remember, nightly homework includes reviewing new vocabulary (conjuguemos is
one excellent way to prove your proficiency with the vocab), and weekly
writing assignments. The assignments will always be due the last class of
the week, so next week #4 will be due. Don't be late!!! Also, as we get
into the quarter, you ALL will have to make appointments to do speaking
practice individually with me. Access will be available for this on a more
limited basis, but Activity Period will be regularly available for
practice.
Review of new proficiency notes will also be suggested!!!

2A--- Applications need to come in by January 8!!! Those students

in applying must do so by then. ALL students must have 2A letter signed by
parent and returned to me this week. If you have any questions in regards
to
the application process, please contact me as soon as possible. I would be
very happy to help!!! Remember, 2A is not for everyone. It is a very fast
paced class and very demanding. There is a lot of homework and speaking
involved. You do reap many rewards by participating in it!!! 2 years of
college credit may be available!!!
